Baker-Buffet-Full Time-Swing-Lake Tahoe

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing superior service toboth the internal and external customer for all Food Outlets at Harrah's andHarveys. The incumbent is alsoresponsible for learning from the Chefs, Shift Leaders, and Bakers, and toassist in the overall production of bakery items.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Providessuperior customer service, positively effects interactions with external andinternal customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficultcustomers in all types of business conditions and the ability to workharmoniously with co-workers.
Receives,stores, rotates and distributes bakery supplies and products in and aroundproduction areas.
Scalesand measures all ingredients, including but not limited to flours, sugars,leavenings, as well as doughs and batters within allowable tolerances asdirected.
Afterinitial training, prepares a variety of base doughs, batters and fillings andderivatives thereof, as well as batters for buffet-style pastries, etc.
Prepares,fills and finishes basic buffet cakes.
Cutspies, cakes and tarts; prepares pastries for service; prepares basic breakfastpastry items; fills croissants
Participatesin production of banquet dessert items, plate-up of these, etc.
Maintainsthe Bakery and its equipment in a sanitary condition.
Assiststhe Bakers as assigned or needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent preferred
Previousbakery experience helpful
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mustbe able to speak, read, write, and understand English and speak distinctly andpersuasively to others.
Knowledgeof general baking principles
Abilityto interpret formulas, calculate quantity conversions, and understand productdirections
Abilityto communicate effectively at all times with all levels of team members.
Abilityto correctly prepare foods for which responsible.
Abilityto review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
Abilityto use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited tomixers, sheeter, dough machines, proof boxes.
Abilityto work unsupervised.
Mustbe able to work independently.
Mustbe able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling team memberconflicts.
Abilityto uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations andrecognize standards required by a regulated business

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTALDEMANDS:
Abilityto stand and walk for 8 hours
Abilityto lift and carry 50 pounds so as to be able to move all necessary stock aroundthe work area.
Abilityto hold, grasp, have hand-eye coordination, use repetitive hand motion
Mustbe able to respond to visual and aural cues
Abilityto hear, visually inspect color distinction
Abilityto climb a step stool
Mustbe able to work inside and maneuver throughout the bakery.
Mustbe able to push or pull food carts weighing up to 450 pounds.
Mustbe able to lift pans of hot foods and bowls and trays of cold food.
Mustbe able to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, carry, pull, and stack oven racks,mixes, oven sheets, and other baking utensils within the bakery.
Abilityto frequently tolerate dust
Abilityto occasionally tolerate fumes, chemicals and gasses
Mustbe able to tolerate hot temperatures in excess of 200 degrees and extreme coldtemperatures as low as 10 degrees below zero.
Abilityto frequently tolerate high noise levels
Positionsthat have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy
environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may berequired to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with theirduties, and may be subject to the same environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
