Retail Clerk- Part time- Shift Varies

Assists the retail management team in achieving sales and profit goals, ensuring long term business growth. Ensures a fun-filled and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of four-star service is paramount by providing exceptional sales and customer service. Retail staff are knowledgeable and understand retail and property products and services.
1. Greets all internal and external guests using FOCUS initiatives to provide friendly, courteous, excellent service.
2. Demonstrates a pleasant and enthusiastic demeanor at all times.
3. Maintains awareness/security of retail floor, products, services and guests.
4. Assists customers and guests providing information about retail outlet, merchandise and Harrah???s events, promotions, restaurants and/or hotel amenities.
5. Encourages multiple sales by offering additional/complimentary products and/or services.
6. Performs retail cashier duties and accurately maintains accompanying paperwork.
7. Balances all monies at end of shift.
8. Maintains general housekeeping duties, ensuring the clean, neat and professional appearance of the outlet and its merchandise.
9. Responsible for answering the phone and assisting caller including transfers to appropriate extension, answering questions, providing information etc.
10. Regularly provides feedback and information to Shift Supervisor regarding inventory levels of merchandise, customer feedback/perceptions.
11. Re-stocks merchandise as directed.
12. Performs all duties in any/all retail outlets as assigned.
Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE: One year in retail sales or equivalent experience
Must pass pre-employment Math test with score of 80% or better
20 problem minimum
ABILITIES: 1. Literate and fluent in English
2. Excellent guest service skills
3. Above average communication skills
4. Good math skills
5. Basic knowledge in use of cash register/calculator/copier
6. Good phone skills/manner
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and guests
8. Ability to stand for long periods of time

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
